We get a lot of messages that ask us “What is the advantage of Dr Pickles tattoo balm over [insert name of common cream]?”
Let’s not use the name of this alternative because they can do without the advertising.
And… it’s going to allow our lawyers to sleep happy at night.
For us, there’s clear differences. But it’s worth spelling out again:
Dr Pickles is formulated specifically for a new Tattoo, it has fermented papaya which is great for skin health and healing.
It contains D-Panthenol, a nutrient from the B vitamin family that helps manage the negative results all forms of stress can have on our skin.
Dr Pickles doesn’t have any parabens or petroleum in our balm. These ingredient can be detrimental to new tattooed skin.
Coconut oil has potential benefits for skin, including reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and helping heal wounds.
The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help protect the skin from harmful bacteria.
Dr Pickles’ formula also contains a small amount of beeswax, which helps create a barrier so no infection can penetrate the tattoo.
We hope this helps you with your choice of aftercare for your Tattoo and happy healing.
Just remember – don’t over use anything on it and apply only when required and to keep the tattoo clean all the time.
